About the Artist
I create as naturally as I breathe. Creativity is an essential part of who I am, and the need to express it daily has always driven my life and work. Over the years, I’ve woven my way through a variety of creative fields, including graphic design, web design, and illustration. Each of these disciplines allowed me to build a foundation in visual communication and problem-solving, but I’ve always been drawn to hands-on, tactile forms of creation.
While working in these fields, I found myself deeply intrigued by the art of jewelry-making. I immersed myself in the craft, eventually establishing myself as a jeweler. The process of transforming raw materials into something wearable and meaningful was incredibly rewarding, but I knew my creative journey wasn’t complete. There was still more to explore.
Later in life, I made the decision to return to school, choosing to challenge myself in an area I had the least experience with: painting. I enrolled at the University of Hartford’s Hartford Art School and pursued a BFA in painting. I was particularly drawn to abstract art for its ability to convey emotion and complexity through pure line, color, and texture. Abstract painting became a new frontier for me—one that pushed my creativity in ways that representational art never had. The challenge of creating something beautiful and inspiring from the abstract was a form of expression that truly resonated with me. It felt like an endless puzzle, waiting to be solved with each new canvas.
After earning my degree in 2019, my artistic path shifted again when I discovered ceramics. What began as a few casual pottery classes quickly evolved into a deep passion. Clay, with its limitless potential for texture, form, and function, captured my imagination. The material itself offers so much variety, from the earthy nature of stoneware to the delicate intricacy of porcelain. Ceramics, like painting, requires an intimate connection between the artist and the medium, and I’ve found that the depth and physicality of working with clay perfectly complement my creative process.
Today, I’m a proud member of a local pottery cooperative, where I continue to explore the boundless possibilities of clay. My work spans across multiple mediums—painting, ceramics, jewelry-making—and I love the ways these disciplines inform and inspire one another. For me, art is about constant growth and exploration, and I look forward to seeing where this journey takes me next.
